Bergen UMC and Bergen Evangelical Presbyterian Church presented the 2025 Bergen Community VBS: Magnified: Discovering the Bigness of God in the smallest of things.

Our VBS theme this year was “Magnified” where we discovered the “bigness of God in the smallest of things.” Kids, teen helpers, and adults participated in memorable Bible studies and activities, sang catchy songs, played teamwork-building games, dug into delicious snacks, and had lots of faith-filled fun.
Our mission focus this year was providing school supplies for Operation Christmas Child and collecting food items for the Mustard Seed Food Pantry, the community food pantry located at Bergen UMC.
We had 54 children register for VBS with an average daily attendance of 47. Our VBS kids, families, and volunteers collected 103 food items and 113 school supplies, packed 39 boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and raised $202 to help fund the Christmas Box shipping. Bergen UMC and Bergen EPC celebrated an ecumenical VBS Sunday Celebration on 8/24/25 at Hickory Park with VBS children leading the songs, reading scripture, and helping with prayers. Pastor Brandt (BEPC) brought the message, and Joy Hammond (VBS Director) was the Worship Leader. Praise God in all his glory!
Bergen Community VBS is open to all children from age 4 (by Aug 1st) through middle school. If you are a teen, or know a teen who would like to participate, we have assistant leader roles available for you! You will get to take part in this adventure with the younger kids and the adult leaders, and help spread the love of Jesus while having fun.
Our participant registration portal is open for online registration. For in-person registration you can contact our church office, or look for our VBS table at community events like Bergen Park Fest. We always can use volunteers, either during the VBS days themselves, for set up and decoration at the churches, or with planning the VBS.
